In the Fall of 2006, creators of Lifted Research Group (LRG), Jonas Bevequav and Robert Wright decided to design a women’s line Luxirie by LRG to compliment their already growing men’s wear empire. Kim Lash, the West Coast marketing executive, describes Luxirie by LRG as a clothing line that embodies the essence of awoman that wants to be noticed.
“It is always about taking it one step further, about being bold and pushing the envelope, says Lash. [We design for a] female who is confident and strong. [We design for a] female who is the fashion leader, not the follower."
Using the muse of a strong fashionable leader as their target, they have created a trademark in the form of one pieces. Luxirie by LRG specializes in updating the overall. Whether replacing baggy jean bottoms with skinny jean bottoms or adding a criss-cross back detail, Luxirie always wants their muse to have a great shape.
“The overall is a classic cute piece with a great fit on the women’s body”, says Lash. So we took that and made it a little slimmer, sexier and edgier."
Besides making body slithering overalls, Luxirie by LRG plays with other classic pieces in a woman’s wardrobe. There are skirts with back pockets that expand beyond the finish line. There are sweaters made with breathable holes, therefore you won’t sweat when you’re inside a room that is hot like an oven. Luxiries by LRG creations go beyond the ordinary, however their inspiration comes from familiar places.
“We pull inspirations from everyday life: music, films, art, people, culture, and fashion, says Lash. Sometimes it can start from a fabric swatch and transform into something totally different than what it started out to be."
Using their various inspirations, Luxirie by LRG is becoming a leading women’s clothing line. There is one piece from their 2007 collection that is receiving much praise. “Our graffiti print hoodie is probably the most popular from the Spring line, says Lash. It is that classic hoodie that every girl wants with bright colors and strong graphics. It allows the consumer to not only be comfortable and edgy, but bold and confident."
Even though, this one hoodie seems popular amongst their customers. Luxirie by LRG believes there is no need to have favorites.
“There never is a favorite because we come up with something better every season," says Lash.
