BFWStyle News: A Dream is Coming True
It was back in November 2007 when I first met the founder and president of Baltimore's Fashion Week, Sharan Nixon. She said the following to me:
“On June 26, 2007, the idea of having a Baltimore Fashion Week came to me. I always wanted to assist with New York Fashion Week and I thought to myself I’m in Baltimore. And Baltimore needs something like this. If you spray T-shirts, makes clothes for skateboarders, reconstruct clothes or whatever, I want to see what you can do at Baltimore’s Fashion Week," said Nixon.
Now, she has around 40 designers displaying their collections at Baltimore's Fashion Week. She has local Baltimore Photographer, Roy Cox giving a workshop about fashion photography. She has Tim Coburn and his make-up artist, James Cornwell giving a workshop as well. She will reveal a few surprise guest during Baltimore's Fashion Week. The mayor of Baltimore City, Sheila Dixon will be making her runway debut on opening night with local fashion design company, KAS collection. She has a great group of people working with her to make sure all this happen.
We hope to see you at Baltimore's Fashion Week starting August 11th, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the War Memorial Building on 101 North Gay St. in Baltimore, Maryland!
